3/28/09 - No Frills All Thrills Results: Last week 4 runners headed out to Brighton to run in the 5 mile trail race. Congrats to Jacob Mack and Ana Buia for winning their respective age groups! 11/28/08 - Detroit Turkey Trot: Did you find Waldo!? Some runners on the team headed downtown before sunrise to run the 26th annual Detroit Turkey Trot. A new registration record was set with ~10,000 runners in both in the 5 & 10k. Congrats to Teresa Cook for finishing 3rd in the in her age group and 6th overall (out of 1906) in the women's 5K! 11/15/08 - Music Videos Galore: Car 1's famous music videos from Regionals and Nationals have now hit YouTube! Also, if you ever wanted to know how to get a truck to honk on road trips, there's a video on that too. Check them out here!

11/10/08 - NIRCA National Championship: Just this past weekend, UMDxc sent 12 runners to Happy Valley, PA for Nationals. Congrats to the guys for fielding their first full team at Nationals! They finished 21st overall, led by freshmen Craig Cowing who finished the 8k race in 30:45. The women were one runner short of a full team, but were led by junior Ana Buia, who finished the 6k race in 24:50. Results

11/2/08 - NIRCA National Championship: Nationals is this weekend! It has come to my attention that I put the wrong times on our webpage. Sorry! Make sure to check here for the latest Nationals news. Justin will be sending out information regarding carpooling ASAP!

10/21/08 - NIRCA Midwest Regionals: A perfect, sunny day for a race in Anderson, IN! The course was filled with trails full of epic hills and the men even experienced some stairs.The women finished 7th, led by Ana Buia with a time of 25:44 (6K) for a 10th place finish. The men, who fielded their first full team at MC5, were led by freshmen Jacob Mack with a time of 28:44 (8K). Full Results

10/10/08 - Running of the EMUs Results and Regionals: Results are in from the Running of the EMUs last weekend. The men's team finished 3rd. *Results* Regionals are NEXT WEEK!! If you signed up to go, remember to email Justin to finalize the car pool list. And team t-shirts are in!

10/1/08 - Grand Slam for Education: This past Saturday (9/27), a few of the runners decided to run an almost 5K event right on campus. Congrats to Ana Buia for finishing 4th overall with a time of 18:51. Results

7/24/08 - Tentative Fall Race Schedule: This past Tuesday a couple of the officers got together for a meeting to discuss this upcoming Fall season. A tentative schedule was thought up, which includes the Michigan Fall Classic which our club will be hosting this year at Ford Field. View the tentative schedule here.

3/4/08 - Run Wild Relays: Hosted by UMDxc on UD-Mercy's brand spanking new 6 lane outdoor track on April 5th!! The meet will be all relays and a ton of fun, $10/runner or $200/team, whatever is cheaper. **This is a club team only event** To learn more, download the entry form or meet info sheet.

2/10/08 - Freaking Insane: Because we love to run SO much, we not only ran outside today, but raced! With temperatures actually dropping from 12 to 4 degrees between 8:00am and the start of the race at 10:00am, nine brave runners head out to the Riverview Winterfest. Wind chills were around -20 degrees, and the icy roads combined with near whiteout conditions by fields caused a few falls, but none the less we all took home some prizes! The first of the two relay teams (4x1 mile) took 1st place overall and the second UMDxc relay took 3rd overall. Teresa Cook ran the 4 mile race, finishing 2nd in her age group. Results will be posted ASAP.

2/03/08 - 15 Minutes of Fame: By a random occurrence, while ice skating downtown with the club last week, our very own Eric Stuart was asked to do some acting for a spoof on the Bud Light "Dude" commercials. The video is posted at www.streetvision.com, just click on the "DUDE!" video to watch it, Eric is the one who knocks over the ice skater!

11/23/07- Detroit Turkey Trot: Some runners headed downtown at the crack of dawn yesterday to join in the 25th annual Turkey Trot! A new event record was set with ~8,500 racers hitting the streets of Detroit for the 10k & 5k. Congrats to Teresa Cook for placing 5th overall (out of 1328) in the women's 5k!

11/13/07- UMDxc in the MJ: Just so you all know, we got an article written about the team, and it came out yesterday in the Michigan Journal! Check it out!

11/5/07- NIRCA Nationals Results: The women placed 7th out of 13 teams represented at the 2007 NIRCA National Championships! Led by freshman Ana Kerekes in 17th place with a PR time of 24:56 (6k). And just one man short of a full team, the men ran well on the hills from hell, led by freshman Brian Williams in 32:44 (8k). Results | Pictures

10/28/07- NIRCA Rankings: That's right, we have one of the top ranked club runners in the country on our team at UMD!! Sophomore Ana Kerekes is ranked 17th going into Nationals based on her 6k time from Midwest Regionals on a hilly and windy course last week. Let the countdown to the showdown at IU begin! 10/21/07- NIRCA Midwest Regionals: Beautiful day for a race in Muncie, Indiana! A 4th place team finish for the UMD women, who just missed beating out Purdue by five points. Congrats to treasurer Ana Kerekes who finished 4th overall in the 6k with a time of 25:12! 10/12/07- Homecoming Events: Our team won $100 in the homecoming competitions this week...pretty much because we rocked the 3 legged race and potato sack relays! Not too bad for playing some random games.

9/9/07- 1st Race Results: We took 12 runners to the UD-Mercy Invite yesterday on 9/8. A hilly course, some NCAA DI teams and a few tumbles later, here are the results!

8/7/07- Social Chair Search: We are currently looking for a few people to join the board of officers as a 'social chair'. You would be responsible for planning fun stuff to do at practice or other social activities after practice! If you think you have what it takes (creativity, an out-going personality, etc.) email Julia.

7/29/07- Summer Run Times: Get shape for the fall and meet some of the other runners from the club before school starts! We'll be meeting Monday & Tuesday nights in front of the Fieldhouse at 8:15pm. Read more about club Run Times

3/23/07- New Runner Meeting: All interested runners are encouraged to attend this 10-15 minute meeting to get info for the upcoming fall!! It will be held on Wednesday, April 11th @ 11:15 in room 218-Fieldhouse.

12/5/06- Officers Elected for 2007-2008 School Year: President Julia Stulock; Vice President Justin Opfermann; Secretary Katie Samson; Treasurer Anna Kerekes; Social Chair Missy Lachowski. The newly created positions will take effect immediately. Congrats to all, we'll be hard at work to make our club even better!
