UM-D Club Cross Country is a growing student organization which was founded in the spring of 2005 and consists of runners of all levels. Our club members range from casual runners to former high school all-staters. The primary goal of the club is to unite these runners within the UM-D community and to ensure that boredom does not consume those who would otherwise run alone! We provide an easy-going environment for runners of all abilities with plenty of opportunity for competition as well. The only requirement to join is a passion for running!

Cross Country is an entirely student directed club sport at the University of Michigan - Dearborn. There are no coaches, which allows us to promote student leadership through our board of officers.

3/4/08 - Run Wild Relays: Hosted by UMDxc on UD-Mercy's brand spanking new 6 lane outdoor track on April 5th!! The meet will be all relays and a ton of fun, $10/runner or $200/team, whatever is cheaper. **This is a club team only event** To learn more, download the entry form or meet info sheet.

2/10/08 - Freaking Insane: Because we love to run SO much, we not only ran outside today, but raced! With temperatures actaually dropping from 12 to 4 degrees between 8:00am and the start of the race at 10:00am, nine brave runners head out to the Riverview Winterfest. Wind chills were around -20 degrees, and the icy roads combined with near whiteout conditions by fields caused a few falls, but none the less we all took home some prizes! The first of the two relay teams (4x1 mile) took 1st place overall and the second UMDxc relay took 3rd overall. Teresa Cook ran the 4 mile race, finshing 2nd in her age group. Results will be posted ASAP.

2/03/08 - 15 Minutes of Fame: By a random occurance, while ice skating downtown with the club last week, our very own Eric Stuart was asked to do some acting for a spoof on the Bud Light "Dude" commericals. The video is posted at www.streetvision.com, just click on the "DUDE!" video to watch it, Eric is the one who knocks over the ice skater!

1/02/08 - Winter Run Times & Officer Changes: That's right, time for new run times! And as of yesterday, our new officers too! View the NEW run times or stop by the officers page to learn more about our new leaders.

11/30/07 - 2008 Election Results: Hooray for the new officers! The positions will take effect January 1st, 2008. Read more about the current officers.

11/25/07- 2008 Officer Elections: '08 Officers take over on January 1st, 2008. Elections for all positions will be held on Friday, November 30th.

11/23/07- Detroit Turkey Trot: Some runners headed downtown at the crack of dawn yesterday to join in the 25th annual Turkey Trot! A new event record was set with ~8,500 racers hitting the streets of Detroit for the 10k & 5k. Congrats to Teresa Cook for placing 5th overall (out of 1328) in the women's 5k!

11/13/07- UMDxc in the MJ: Just so you all know, we got an article written about the team, and it came out yesterday in the Michigan Journal! Check it out!

11/5/07- NIRCA Nationals Results: The women placed 7th out of 13 teams represented at the 2007 NIRCA National Championships! Led by freshman Ana Kerekes in 17th place with a PR time of 24:56 (6k). And just one man short of a full team, the men ran well on the hills from hell, led by freshman Brian Williams in 32:44 (8k). Results | Pictures

10/28/07- NIRCA Rankings: That's right, we have one of the top ranked club runners in the country on our team at UMD!! Sophomore Ana Kerekes is ranked 17th going into Nationals based on her 6k time from Midwest Regionals on a hilly and windy course last week. Let the countdown to the showdown at IU begin! 10/21/07- NIRCA Midwest Regionals: Beautiful day for a race in Muncie, Indiana! A 4th place team finish for the UMD women, who just missed beating out Purdue by five points. Congrats to treasurer Ana Kerekes who finished 4th overall in the 6k with a time of 25:12!
